about Martin Schlumpf

I am a retired music professor, composer, researcher and publicist.
From 1978 to 2011, I taught music theory and improvisation at the Department of Music at Zurich University of the Arts. From 2008, I was also President of the Senate and University Assembly there.
In addition to music, I have always been interested in scientific, political and social issues. The question at the centre of my studies today is: How was Homo sapiens able to develop into an all-dominant species? What were the key factors in this success? Where do we stand today in this development? What remains to be done?
I am a data columnist for Nebelspalter and a member of the expert advisory board of Energie Club Schweiz.
In this blog, I would like to summarise my arguments on certain topics and, whenever possible, back them up with facts. Perhaps this can help to make certain discussions a little more objective.
Thank you for all critical and supportive comments.
